How do I submit STP on behalf of my client as a registered tax or bas agent?

Submit STP on behalf as a Registered Tax or BAS agent

Registered Tax agents can submit STP on behalf of their clients through Microkeeper. The Client's Microkeeper account must be configured with their Agent's ABN and Registered agent number (RAN) or Tax agent number (TAN)

As the Tax/BAS Agent, you will need to:

1. Provide your client with your practicing ABN and TAN or RAN number

2. Notify the ATO of your hosted software service

Option 1 - Notify via Access Manager

  1. Log in to Access Manager
  2. Select My hosted SBR software services.
  3. Select Notify the ATO of your hosted service.
  4. Search for ABN: 75909758040
  5. Select the ABN link of "THE TRUSTEE FOR MICROKEEPER UNIT TRUST"
  6. Enter the client's Software ID and select Next.
  7. Read the Notification statement then select Save.

Option 2 - Notify via calling the ATO

  1. Call 1300 85 22 32
  2. Follow the prompts and provide Microkeeper ABN (75909758040) and your clients Software ID when requested.

As the Client you will:

1. Link your Tax Agent details to your Microkeeper system.

  1. Navigate to Menu > Settings > General > Global - ABN and Pay Cycles
  2. Under your applicable ABN, click the edit button next to "STP via Employer" to open the window.
  3. Select STP via Tax Agent
  4. Enter your Agent's ABN
  5. Select either Registered Agent Number or Tax Agent Number
  6. Enter the Agent Number provided by your Tax/BAS Agent.

2. Provide your Tax Agent your SBR Software ID.

  1. Navigate to Menu Settings > General > Global - STP Settings
  2. Provide the number under "ATO/SBR 'BMS ID' 'Software ID'
